The FAQ

Do you Travel?

Contact me for a travel quote for locations outside Hampton Roads.

How long have you been doing this?

I started my photography journey in high school (~2004), but started to focus more specifically on animal photography in 2017 when I started volunteering with a local rescue (K9 Justice League).

How many photos do we get?

Many factors can affect the final number of photos, including the type of session, your pet's tolerance of a camera, and the variety of poses or activities your pet will cooperate with. However, I try to provide as many quality images per session as possible! Generally, this is around 20 images for a 30-minute session.

How do we get our photos?

I will email you a link to your album. From there, you can download all your final images.

Do you retouch photos?

I do some basic retouching to include improving light, attempting to remove leashes if desired, correcting for any grass/dirt that gets stuck on their tongue or fur, removing eye discharge, etc.

Whats your turn around time?

Typically, I will get your photos to you within 7 days. If I have several sessions in a short period of time, there may be a short delay. However, I will attempt to alert you to this at the time of your session.

How do we book you?

Contact me via email at nicoleelphotography@gmail.com or message me via my Facebook on Instagram pages. I require a small deposit when scheduling your session. This is non-refundable, however, is included as part of your total session fee.

Can you help us with planning?

Of course! I want your session to be exactly what you imagined it to be!

How far out do you book?

I typically book up to two months in advance, but can always book out further. For a larger event or session, I prefer as much advance notice as possible.

How can we prep our pets for our session?

I want your pet to be as comfortable as possible. If able, try to visit the location once or twice before your session so they can sniff it out. Bring lots of high value treats and some favorite toys! If you want them to wear certain items, such as a bandana, practice having them wear it ahead of time. Practice basic commands like sit, down, and stay so we can easily get some poses done.

What should we wear?

Whatever you are comfortable in!! If there are any concerns, such as muddy spots, I will let you know ahead of time so you can plan accordingly.

What if my dog can't be off leash?

I can often remove a leash from an image. However, I can not guarantee that it can always be done. I will do my best to help position the leash to minimize its visibility in the final photos.

Do you have a group rate?

Please contact me for specific inquiries. If I have multiple people interested for a specific event (such as dock diving), I can offer discounted rates.
